hmmm if its the original, then they had a copy at a local CD shop

by rerecorded do you mean reissued?
Because they did do that...
look at the back. If it's a reissue (almost certainly is) there'll be a copyright date for the original release and then a copyright date for the reissue.
if you meant remastered, no, I don't believe they remastered it. It was a pretty soulless reissue - pack it into a jewel case and out the door. No lyrics or anything, just an old photo.
