Hey guys. I've got a little question about sight reading:

I'm learning right now Legnani's 36th Caprice. It's written in e major, so there are 4 accidentals:

f# c# g# and d#

now my problem, in two measures of the piece stands an x (x= # #) before the c. Does that mean, that the c is raised twice (c -> c# -> d) or is actually the c# raised two times (c# -> d -> d#)?

I really hope someone can help me.

Hey Mr.Sister,

the X is a double sharp and would raise the C two half steps (same pitch as D natural). Have fun with the Caprice.

Chris.
