Question for anyone who has been to Progpower before.

Some of these "Peachtree" streets run parallel to each other, and they are NOT the same street!

By the way, ONE of the "Peachtree" streets is supposed to have a Kroger and a Borders that's within reasonable walking distance of the venue and hotels.

Unfortunately, despite many, many miles traversed last year on streets called "Peachtree", I never found them!

They are both on Peachtree Street...i.e., the main drag, and the same road that the Residence Inn fronts on. They are north of the R.I. a few blocks...basically, P'Tree St will cross over I-85, and also over Norfolk Southern Railway. The AMTRAK station is right there, and the Borders Books/Kroger supermarket are diagonally opposite from it. If you use Mapquest to scope around, the cross-street there is called Deering Street.

I swear we were travelling down Peachtree st NE, and without turning or curving,
were suddenly on Peacthree st SW!!! :OMG:
Yep, but that's not a flaw.....it's the way streets are designated in larger cities here. The center of the city is used as a base reference point, and the streets are labeled as to which quadrant they are in.
Peachtree Street, which crosses right through the center of town, would have a NE and a SW component.

I'd personally be inclined to avoid the SW component under any circumstances -- not a great part of town when you get south of city-center -- but that's well south of our venue and hotels. Aside from the occasional drowned rat, drunken member of Spiral Architect, or giant mutant star-goat, the area around Center Stage is quite safe.

This was a duplicate post. (In THIS case, the Forum froze up, but posted my message the first time without updating the 'last post' database.)

Late-night Forum users beware: It looks like the usual forum "doldrums," where it freezes up and returns "Unable to display page" or a 404 Error, have shifted from 3am ET to 2am ET.

Be aware and copy your outgoing post text into notepad (CTRL-C) before -- or maybe RIGHT AFTER -- you transmit it. There's nothing more annoying than losing a long post after working on it for ten+ minutes..... :erk:

The first response should have read:

Dead bodies everywhere, blood running free in the streets, open gun trafficking, violent drug dealers, radioactive pavement, brown skies of acid rain, babies crucified, random hail of fire, and that's just Friday night! Saturday we get the locusts and firstborn dropping dead!

If you're staying at the Super 8, just walk out of your hotel room and go the opposite direction from the venue. Kroger and Borders are less than a mile away.
