How much would cost a band like Volbeat, Amon Amarth or Pretty Maids for a show(private one)?

I am starting to put money aside to hire a band that i like for a private birthday gig!! I will turn 50 in 4 years!!!

Private gigs are going to cost you even more than a one-off festival appearance. Bands take publicity and exposure into account with the cost of performing a fest.

Figure on flights for band & crew. Add visas. Add food per diem for everyone for all days. Add private hotel rooms for minimum of 3 days. Add your gear and backline costs. Then add a hellacious fee on top of that.

Volbeat would cost you 2-3 times more than the others you listed.

Translation: Win that lottery!!! :heh:

So, if you could pick any band in the whole world to play your birthday party... it would be Powerwolf?

I feel like it would be insulting to ask Iron Maiden to play a birthday party, even if I had a bazillion dollars to blow. Powerwolf, tho'? They can play on a stage in my (imaginary) mansion's back yard right next to the moon bounce.

That is why you see big shots paying people like Jay-Z a million big ones to play their kid's Sweet 16.

so 50k/60k will do it for a "smaller" band? (ballpark)

I think if you made an offer of 60k to Amon Amarth's people they would probably take you seriously and heavily consider it.

Honestly, your best bet though, rather than asking anyone here, would be to call (not email, call) the agents that book these bands and let them know if you are indeed serious about doing this. Usually you can find that info on the band's Facebook page or website, but you could also get it on the agency's site. In cases like these, the agent will probably just ask you to make him an offer and then tell you whether or not you're on the mark or not.

Oh yeah dude, it's much worse for celebrities. If a non profit wanted to hire a celebrity spokesperson, often the celebrity's agent is willing to go low knowing that he or she is getting the celeb client a ton of exposure out of the deal. For a private party, there isn't a bigger waste of time for the client, so there has to be a ton of money for it. Though, Jay Z can sell out MSG 5 nights in a row, so I have a feeling he can easily make a million a night on tour.

I know, I know. I just wanted to "feel" how much.

If PPUSA stands strong until 2017 maybe I will contact the promoter and make him an offer.........

my only request to the band would be: Must be MY setlist!!!
