Nah, not all of us are dumb, just most of us. I don't consider myself dumb. I'm an ass, not a dumbass. It varies when I am drunk (which is all the time) though.

Hey Janne. What are your favourite movies? Mine Blade Runner, StarWars (original trilogy), The Big Lebowsky...

Well I just fuckin love Blues Brothers and I even liked the BB2000. Some other all time favourites: theMatrix, Gone in 60secs, Ace Venturas, ... The Big Lebowsky was funny as hell dude.

Yes you can do rough calculations with 1e=1dollar.

I think FTR sold 150.000 copies world wide.

some of my faves:
Bill and Teds Excellent Adventure
Waynes World 1 & 2
Ace Ventura 1 & 2
Predator
The Godfather all 3
Casino
Full Metal Jacket

Full Metal Jacket was a fucking badass movie, along with Casino (or any DeNiro movie). Gone is 60 Seconds is badass (Cage did a good job) Resident Evil was killer (Jovovich is a hotty, especially in the 5th Element), The One, of course the Matrix, how about some Predator? Dudes, there is too many good fucking flicks, it'll take all the space UM has to have the list on their server.

I also love The Matrix and Ace Ventura! (1 and 2)

Also love Minority Report. And so many others.

You have to sell shitloads of copies to live from your music. People don't seem to be aware of that.

Every cd you burn, is a little push to get that band to the bin.

Tours are a promotion tool, it doesn't especially bring money. If merchandising sells well on tour it can bring some benefit but merchandising is done by record company most of the time, not by the band.

But don't get it wrong, labels also have a hard time with cd-burning/mp3 downloads.
And logically, if labels have difficulties, bands have some too and get less possibilities, less promo, or sometimes no signing at all even if they deserve it.

Feeling guilty about your burned cd's now ???
cuz I do.

On the mp3 d/load, cd burning subject, I've tried to limit this to "very" old bands that I like, whose albums have been deleted a long time ago, but I'll d/load and burn a few tracks to hear a band that I've never heard before, and then try to obtain the legit cd's.

i only burn cd's so i can listen to them until i can buy it and make sure the said band gets paid, im all about buying cds, but at about $20 a pop, it gets expensive.

hey guys.... i haven't really posted here before so.....what's up? anyway, i have a few things to share with everybody (including the band dudes!). first of all, i totally support mp3s, burning cds, etc. etc. (not burning cds AS MUCh but let me get to that before y'all get pissed) Alright, so my girlfriend and i have spend hours upon hours downloading everything possible, thenwe work our asses off in addition to going to school to pay for all the cds we have. We started collecting cds (that's right, collecting) about... a year ago and we currently have approximately 300 unique albums. If a cd is especially good, we will each buy a copy, but mostly we stick to one cd between the two of us. That said, we have 2 copies of empiricism (borknagar), 2 copies of hate crew (we live in the states, but had to order the finnish import right when it came out), 4 copies of iced earth's horror show (different editions), 4 copies of opeth's deliverence, etc. etc. Without mp3s, i wouldn't have ever bought cds from any of those bands, including cob. How the hell am i supposed to know what they sound like. As for cd burning, i have burned many cds, but when i burn a cd i always intend to buy it. otherwise i just stick a few random songs onto a cd and listen to them, not the whole album. so i support them if people will be honest and eventually pay the fuckin band! i will gladly give my money to the people who make work pass by an hour quicker. By the way, janne, out of the 150,000 ftr albums you sold, 2 of those are ours.
