Gorey, I am assuming you will be able to answer this better than anyone else, so I shall ask you. I have been listening to some Mortification mp3s which I downloaded today, and I come to the 3 from the 'Blood World' album. They are heaps more melodic than the rest, but still retain the cool sound, and 'Your Life' is a great song. What is the album like overall? How would you compare it to their other stuff? I have been getting into their stuff I have on mp3 for a while now (as I said I downloaded more today), and have been meaning to get an album for a while, and after listening to these mp3s I think 'Blood World' might be the first album I pick up now. Which would you recommend etc?

Cheers.

Just about anything from Mortification up to and including 'Envision Evangelene' is recommended from me (except 'Primitive Rhythm Machine'. I'd try to avoid that). After that they got a bit ordinary although I'm told 'Relentless' is pretty good. The stuff on 'Bloodworld' is really different from their other early albums. It's melodic thrash as opposed to the death n' grind they were doing on 'Scrolls of the Megilloth' (one of the best Aussie metal albums ever) and 'Post Momentary Affliction'. So yeah, 'Blood World' would be a good starting point, but good luck finding it!
