Daaaaaaaaaaaaammmmmmmmmmmmnnnnnnnnnnnn!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That's alot of albums. If you want to go REAL deep Sabbath, their original name was Earth. That dates back to the 60's! It's a rare find. Their music back then wasn't heavy like Black Sabbath, but it would be a nice addition to the full collection!! I suggest going to old record stores to find this one.
Great collection Metallicat!

After some hunting, I found this:

Back in 1968 a band called Polka Tulk Blues Band changed its name to Earth, and then to Black Sabbath.

Polka Tulk Blues Band
(August 1968)

John "Ozzy" Osbourne (vocals)
Tony Iommi (guitar)
Terence "Geezer" Butler (bass)
Jimmy Phillips (slide guitar)
Alan "Aker" Clarke (saxophone)
Bill Ward (drums)

Earth
(September 1968 - August 1969)

John "Ozzy" Osbourne - lead vocals
Anthony Frank "Tony" Iommi - lead guitar
Terence "Geezer" Butler - bass guitar
William "Bill" Ward -drums

Edit: Another site says the "Polka Tulk Blues Band" shortened the name to "Polka Tulk" (which couldn't have been for too long, considering it lasted about a month), then changed to "Earth Blues Band," which was then reduced to "Earth."

Woah, thanks very much for that PhoenixRenegade!!!!!!! That is an awesome list!!! I've never seen Born Again to buy, but I have seen Mob Rules so I think that will be my next purchase. I read about Polka Tulk and Earth in the Best Of cd booklet, would be interesting to hear I would think.

Oh and I call everyone duder by the way!! It's just something I started doing ever since I heard James Hetfield call someone it in the S & M documentary. :D

Thanks again for everyone's help - much appreciated!!

Get Born Again. Amazing album!
my fav! i played the vinyl so much it's etched in my brain! i almost heard the demo sessions last night but the files kept getting corrupted- pure evil must not p2p very well.
here's a quote from bruce on sabbath and ian from http://www.geocities.com/mcapozzolijr/brucedickinson.html
that dates back to an interview he did supporting the best of bruce dickinson cd back in 2001:

(Q)- Why do you want to be a storyteller with your music?
Bruce Dickinson- As a kid I was on stage and I did a lot of acting and stuff like that, before getting into a rock band. So, I always wanted to tell a story in that way from the stage. And, I liked rock songwriters when I was growing up who were storytellers. Like Ian Anderson (Jethro Tull) and Ozzy Osborne of Black Sabbath. The more straight ahead story telling. I mean Ian Gillian of Deep Purple used to write some great stories with his music. When I later on got to know him, later on when we supported his band with Iron Maiden, I would go to the bar after a show and listen to Ian Gillian tell amazing stories. One on one in a bar, he's a fantastic storyteller. I'd ask him about the art of songwriting and his songs within Deep Purple and out of Ian would come this tremendous story of which the song was based. And I thought what a great story. Wow! The reason the song was fascinating was, at the back of it was an amazing story. Now for myself and me using storytelling techniques, if there's is some truth to the song lyrics, if there's some meaning behind it, then that's probably why it's interesting. Subconsciously you realize there's a bit more to it then the words. It's only recently come into the mainstream in rock music. Now not necessarily in just music, but overall in Western culture, storytelling is starting to come back in popularity.

That's fucking great! And I absolutely love Ian Gillan (in a non-homosexual way, of course :loco: ), and almost every project he's been involved in.

Born Again is such a different album. The sound, the vocals, the dark atmosphere...simply fascinating!
