Since they probably deserve their own thread as opposed to some peon's top 10 list. :Spin:

1. Vol. 4
2. Sabbath Bloody Sabbath
3. Black Sabbath
4. Sabotage
5. Paranoid
6. Master of Reality

Heaven and Hell would probably be between Paranoid and Master of Reality, but it's been years since I've heard it so I won't bother. The others that I know aren't worthy of the list.

I'm sure this has been done before but I didn't feel like searching. Sorry. No I'm not.

Vol. 4
Master of Reality
Sabotage
Sabbath Bloody Sabbath
Black Sabbath
Paranoid
Never say die
born again
technical exctacy
heaven and hell
mob rules

man what an evil thread
my mind would change on this weekly

1. Master of Reality
2. Sabotage
3. Vol. 4
4. Sabbath Bloody Sabbath
5. Paranoid
6. Black Sabbath
7. Never Say Die
8. Technical Ecstacy

Is this just for Ozzy era then?
Nah, any Sabbath. I'd put some Dio in there but it's been a looooooong time since I heard a complete album.

Haha, you act like RC threads have rules. :loco:

Subject to change:

1. Master Of Reality (this was one that changed my life forever...)
2. Sabbath Bloody Sabbath (the one with the biggest abundance of great ideas)
3. Sabotage (this should be second just for Megalomania)
4. Volume 4 (the quintessential cocaine album)
5. Paranoid (the overexposure factor)
6. s/t (should be #2 just for Black Sabbath)
7. Technical Ecstasy (the decline begins, still some inspired moments here)
8. Never Say Die (the we're burned out and no longer give a shit album)

1. Master of Reality
2. Volume 4
3. Sabotage
4. Sabbath Bloody Sabbath
5. Black Sabbath
6. Paranoid
7. Never Say Die
8. Technical Ecstasy

But, I have them ALL up to Forbidden. I even have the Eternal Idol w/ Ray Gillen on vocals. I love all Black Sabbath.

It's interesting to see the periods so interspersed in the ranking.

This is one time I really feel objective about the #1 ranking.

1) Black Sabbath s/t not only is it groundbreaking, but the atmosphere they created has still been unmatched by any metal band.

Like I said, I love all Sabbath, the Tony Martin feature on our site should show that much. But to answer JayKeeley's question, I have nothing against MOR, other than I've heard it a million times too many, it is easily one of the most overexposed albums of all time.

I'm not the biggest fan of Master of Reality, it doesn't have that real oomph like other Sabbath. It's not bad or anything, I just rarely listen to it when I'm reaching for Sabbath.

Sweet Leaf, After Forever, Into the Void, Lord of this WOrld, Children of the Grave don't have oomph?????!!!!!

It's got a helluva lot more oomph than Paranoid, which seems to be solidly praised for reasons unknown to me. Yes, Paranoid (the song) is annoying.

1. BLACK SABBATH!!!
2. Masters of Reality
3. Sabbath Bloody Sabbath
4. Paranoid
5. Vol. 4

Those are the only 5 I own, and I love them :D
I've heard a lot of various songs from the others (Ozzy-era and non-)
and I must say... "Symptom of the Universe" is a great song!

I've been listening to a lot of Ozzy solo stuff lately, it's awesome!

You know what it is, it's not the songs or the riffs or anything, it's the performance. I don't know why but the whole album just seems a little stiff to me. It's not enough to make me say "eh, this sucks" or be a total disappointment, there's just that little something lacking in Master of Reality for me. This isn't a major complaint though.
