Question: New Cab or replace speakers?

I bought recently a Rivera K-Tre amp. I tested it out at my local store with a Marshall 1960 and a Mesa Rec Standard cab and the tonez sounded amazing without much tweaking. I own a Peavey 412M cab with Sheffield 1290's. No matter how I tweak the settings, it sounds really muddy and the mids sound fizzy. My question is would it be worth the money to replace the the speakers with V30's and 75's or just buy a new cab?

Thanks for your input. GC has a used recto standard going for $649. Gonna bring my amp up there and give it the ol one, two
