I am currently writing a song with the natural minor scale in G, and Im running out of material. What I need to know is what other scales would go well with this? I've tried freestyling it, but I would feel better using a scale.

Well, other than using aeolian and dorian modes, you could try harmonic minor or phrygian. Phrygian in particular can really darken up the sound. I use it occasionally, but I used to sing for a band with a guitar player who used it a LOT for soloing.

And locrian takes phrygian one step darker by flatting the 5th interval.

Here's a link to some scale patterns that might come in handy.
