Hey--so I saw this band live on March 13th with Kalmah in Toronto at the Mod Club, and I'm wondering if anyone knows/remembers the FIRST SONG Woods of Ypres played. I'm not from Toronto, so I had never heard of these guys up until the concert, but I remember being absolutely blown away by the first song, and despite not knowing what the title is or truly remembering what it all sounded like, I've been dying to get the album that it's on, as well as the song name.

They played Shams of Optimism / Crossing the 45th Parallel first last week in Montréal. Wouldn't be surprised if that's what they opened with in Toronto too.

Yup, Shams it is, always the opener as far as I know...

I will third that. Seen them play 3 times now (most recently nine days ago) and they opened with those 2 each time. Together they form tracks 1 & 2 from their debut album "Against The Seasons - Cold Winter Songs From The Dead Summer Heat" (aka "Woods I"), available on CD and white cassette (only 50 copies floating around!).
