Quick XLR question

I just got my first bulk cable + XLR connectors order from Redco, and I just wanted to confirm which of the three pins is usually used for ground (1, right?), so I know to solder the shield wire to that.

Yeah dude 1 is the shield.

1 is always ground
2 is hot
3 cold
