The borax will work, though you might need to use it a couple of times. Put some socks and slippers on and let it hang out in the carpet, use a brush or a broom to get it in deep in the carpet. if you're still having problems after that, flea bombs should kill what's left.

How long do you think I should leave it 'soaking' in the carpet, as it were? Are we talking a half-hour, or longer?

Yeah, that should be good, but vacuum really good. Don't want to leave the stuff in there too long, as you don't want to be tracking it around or get into the vents. It's a poison.

Sorry to hear this happened to you Paul, I'm sure your cat knew that he was loved and cared for. Cats are amazing creatures!

DEFINITELY. I'm so sorry for your loss.

I still get sad occasionally over the family dog that we had to put down when I was 13. And I'm 40 now!

I hope that you do get some answers, and that it helps with the healing process.
