The most shocking news of the year just reached me!
"BATHORY mastermind Tomas "Quorthon" Forsberg was found dead in his apartment in Stockholm, Sweden on Monday, June 7, informed sources have confirmed to BLABBERMOUTH.NET. The 39-year-old musician, long considered one of black metal's founders, allegedly died of heart failure. More information as it becomes available..."

Withh this sad new what left from the old school black metal era, Bathory join the list of the bands that fade in the night of time : Mayhem (not the same without Euronymous..), Burzum, Immortal, Emperor, Limbonic Art, and now Bathory...
The spirit lives on and will never died in our heart and mind...

There´s no artist in the world whom´s music touched my heart as much as he did with Bathory and Quorthon !!!

Someone could call me a wimp or sth. like that, but yesterday night, as i really realized what it means that he is no more i had to cry.... :cry:

Woh, I never knew he posted in that same thread. Anyways was his name really Tomas Forsberg because it says at his Bathory page at http://www.metal-archives.com that his name was unknown and it wasn't Tomas Forsberg contrary to popular belief.

Anyways, the music industry has lost a mastermind, and may he forever bask in glory in the Golden Hall.

I´m sure, only few people know for sure! And Quorthon himself always wanted it to stay a mystery (read in the Chapters at www.bathory.se).... he even mentioned the name there, which he once gave to a reporter as fake (to fool that one, as he was penetrant)... just like several other fake-names. Quorthon himself says the name is FAKE and not true.... so who are you gonna believe!? But true or not... I myself don`t wanna know... just for the fact that it was Quorthon`s wish NOT to let the world know... until the importance of the name has lost the meaning. the first song i ever heard from him was armegeddon, nad it was great. ive been hooked ever since.
