Radial has come up with a reamp-monster... JX44

The maximum lenght of MIDI cable is 15m, while with XLR it is over 100m with minimal loss in quality.

I get the length issue but my point is, if you're running 6 different amps, how much stuff can you actually switch 6 different amps at once, with just the 2-3 latching or momentary switches? That you're likely to have on that XLR connection?

Plus, if you have to use a Radial footswitch on top of say a pedalboard and/or MIDI footswitch that's just not practical.

I guess what I'm getting at is that that device looks to me to be an exclusively studio oriented device.

I on the other hand see it more as a stage device.

Lets say you recorded the first album mainly with Les Paul and Marshall JCM900 and then you made the cleans on the second album with Stratocaster and Vox AC30, and that one heavy song on the third album with a 7-string Jackson and Mesa Dual Rectifier, and you want to use the correct guitar and the correct amp on the correct song. And then you have an additional spare guitar in case you snap a string or something. You are using wireless system so can have them all plugged in and just with a click on the pedalboard you can switch between the guitars and amps.

That makes sense but I think if you're using 6 amps and 6 guitars you're probably gonna have a Bradshaw-type system like Petrucci. You sure as hell not gonna do all the switching on a Roadking with that Radial.

Don't get me wrong though. I'd totally put that Radial to work somehow.
