of people who record drums in the same room as their equipment. I just recently rearranged my house and ended up with one room to fit all my instrument gear and my recording gear. It's going to be a little bit tight, but Im wondering how you guys go about recording in the same room (since you cant actually hear someone fucking up through the mic.)

Noise canceling headphones maybe.

Yes, this sort of helps. But the quality of the sound on mine is pretty shitty, so it's kind of a lame tradeoff, you can hear more things, but the qualitys bad so you can hear less again. Still, if you had nice ones I'm sure it would help a lot.

I love working in a one room situation. IMO, it forces me to listen to PLAYBACK, which is always more truth telling than even through a control room wall. That slight amount of rumble you get always made me think I was getting a bigger sound than I actually was. I like being forced to listen to the playback before making any further decisions.
