Don't you fucking hate it when a new studio opens up and you can see that the person behind it clearly has NO business sense as soon as you see the rates.
Rehearsal - £6 per hour off peak, £9 per hour peak, with a introductory offer of "book a 3 hour rehearsal and get another free!" (so for their first month they're doing rehearsals for £3/4.50 PER HOUR!)

Marshall JVM/JCM800/DSL guitar amps, Hartke/Marshall/Gallien Kreuger bass amps, PDP/Ludwig/Yamaha Recording Custom drums!. Certainly more than you should be getting for £6 an hour, in fact I wouldn't expect that standard of backline at double the price! For £6 an hour I'd consider myself lucky to get a beat up Marshall MG that mostly works let alone a fucking JVM and 1960TV with greenbacks!
Recording - £15 per hour - and replied to a comment saying they'd do a day (I'm assuming 8-10 hours) for £100! How can you give a discount of what is already such a cheap rate!? Are you afraid of actually making enough money to eat!?
I just don't get how in the hell is someone is expecting to pay the bills for running the place AND pay themselves a wage with those rates!
Totally underpriced themselves on rehearsals, and recording looks so bare bones that it's not worth bothering with for anyone but the total bottom feeder high school bands needing their first demo.
It's places like this that make studios that actually charge enough to run a business look bad to the punters, because they see someone ridiculously undercharging and expect that to be the standard. What business plan came to the conclusion that you can make money by charging £6 per hour for rehearsals? You don't have a business plan you say? BIG FUCKING SURPRISE THERE!
Ok it's an off peak rate, but if you're even lucky enough to get one band in during the day then guess what? before you've even switched the lights on you're paying yourself less than minimum wage. And don't try to bullshit that you're going to get all 3 rooms filled so it'll work out ok, because there's a reason that it's an off peak rate. BECAUSE NO ONE WANTS TO COME IN AND REHEARSE DURING THE FUCKING DAY!
The only consolation is that unless this guy is already inherently wealthy there's no way it will last much more than 6 months. And his location and quality/price point are unlikely have any direct effect on me. I just hate when I see the "I'll have better stuff and cheaper rates than everyone around me" mentality, there's a reason that other studios charge more and/or have cheaper gear, and that reason is the basic economics of sustaining a business!
Oh, and PDP drums are NOT DW!
