rare prog from early 70s

i hope you were kidding. that shit band is a fucking joke.
if the singer wasn't getting double fucked in the ass by 2 black dudes named Leroy and Willis, while recording the songs in the studio, i'd be very surprised

Nope, I find the two bands quite similar. Those who think TMV are something more are just in denial.

you feel the mars volta do nothing differently than coheed and cambria?

has this whole forum gone insane in the last 48 hours?

(aenimated and spigot at the helm...as per usual)

Recent additions:

Landberk - Riktigt Äkta // This is a superb debut by superb musicians, and had this been done by an english band, it would be famous. I'm sure Joey will agree with me on this.

Liquid Scarlet - s/t // A new promising swedish group of young talented musicians, mixing alternative rock and Änglagård/crimsonic influences with admirable results. Very promising for the swedish ever-green prog-scene!

Btw... whoever likes Mars Volta should also try Coheed and Cambria. They might not have a release that beats De-loused but the song 'Delirium Trigger' is probably better than anything TMV has done.

:yow: wow you must be kidding. I just went to the CaC website, and if those samples are any indication of what the band sounds like, then that is one of the shittiest bands I have heard in a while

well i did a good deal of downloading last night :)

cathedral - stained glass stories (pretty awesome stuff)
a couple Magma songs (seems cool)
a Amon Duul II song (seems cool)
pink floyd - the complete zabriskie point sessions (haven't listened yet, but excited to)
bob dylan - blood on the tracks (i always hear about him, and honestly have only heard whatever has been on the radio, probably 2 or 3 songs. i listened to half of this album last night, and it seems pretty darn good)
elp - tarkus (only heard a few tracks by these dudes, but they're essential in the genre, i've heard, so..i'll be listening to it in the next few days)
frank zappa - freak out! (never heard any of his material, have heard good things, and especially about this album. haven't listened yet)

I just bought the Live at Pompeii DVD and it's friggin amazing. I would give anything to have seen them live back in the day.

im very glad to see more people getting into this band. They actually started out doing more punkish material, and slowly worked progressive rock into the format to what they are now which is a legit and promising progressive rock band with a querky rocker edge. keep em coming sweden.

glad to see it happen. thanks for everyone whos participated so far, and helped make this the best/cleanest/and most informative thread overall probably ever on this forum. keep up the good work everyone.

The amount of bands that have been listen in this thread could keep some-one going for a few years. with first trying to find some of the albums, and then listening to it a few times to figure it out. Good shit.

What with your obsessive bumping of the thread for no reason at all, how could it not? :p

i dont typically do that. maybe occasionally if the thread got swallowed up by the mass of shit threads titled "opeth lyrics that inspire my bowels to move". and "i got me an opeth bicycle today, wooopeeee". and "spigot is a tool, do you agree?!".
