ya, this is from the production part of the forum, i put up my own files from a live take and i tried a mix myself.

i think the vocals are a bit low but i still have to fix em up more.

so what yall think?

like you pointed out, the vox are very low in the mix. What are your compression settings on the vox? they sound like the could use a good deal more compression(although it may just sound like that since they're so low in the mix).

I'd brighten up the mix as a whole as well...everything is sounding a bit dark compared to other mixes i've listened to tonight

when it comes to compression i have the ratio pretty medium, slow attack, long release and gain pretty high, when i add a second compressor it clips to high and messes with my sound card so im going to have to use a different compressor.

your saying i need more highs? in what exactly? guitars? vox? snare?
