Another band as topic of discussion. Whatchu guyz think about Raunchy? They kick ass, IMO. Dig the new album... these guys are extremely catchy. :kickass:

i've liked Confusion Bay for a while now and LifeForce Records just sent me an advance copy of their new one, Death Pop Romance, and i think it's really good as well.... listening to it now for only the second time and liking it even more than the first listen.

I don't care for the new one just because of the simple fact that they sound way to much like Soilwork, Scar Symmetry, Textures, and loads others. Confusion Bay was good but I don't dig the new one.

just listened to songs from both, back to back... no significant change in direction from one to the other.

I've got a song or two of theirs on some free compilation cd that I think century media sent me. I liked their songs but the name is so bad (IMHO-no offense to them)... I decided they weren't worth looking into further. Having heard you guys talk about them, I'll check it out further.

Damn, I LOVE Raunchy!!! Great band - I see the similarities with Soilwork, but I think Raunchy are way more heavy and Soilwork can only dream of making such choruses as Raunchy do...incredible. That said, the new album is great, but a little disappointing compared to Confusion Bay. Not because it's bad - it isn't bad at all, but there's not been any real development since Confusion Bay. I think the songs on CB were more diverse than the new ones.

Raunchy's pretty cool, I definitely like Confusion Bay better than Death Pop Romance, not only because the songs are better, but DPR's production is just a little thin to my ears.

CB has more variety for sure. Some slower songs and what not. Ive checked out all of their stuff, and got their cover of Faith No More's "From Out of Nowhere" that's on their page. They're just pretty killer, pretty simple... their formula works for what they're doing. Now they just need some exposure =P

They should TOUR with Soilwork, there's an idea.

This band is amazing! I too have been a fan since confusion bay, and was skecptial as to how they were going to sound after the change of vocalist. But, they have not let me down. The singer is awesome, better than the last. Catchy choruses and awesome riffs. I have been spinning the new disc for the last 3 days non-stop, so in my opinion, it's better than confusion bay. Of course the Soilwork comparisions are there, but there are also other influences in their music, like 80s Pop and such with the choruses. A great band that deserves more attention to say the least:headbang:
