RC Gathering: "summer in the city"

just got this email yesterday from this bint i know ... most likely I will be in the city right after work ...

Hey Ya'll-I'm bartending with my friend Joy from
Monkey Bar tomorrow at OBW (Ocean Beach West) the
address is 20 W. 38th. between 5th and 6th. You should
all come down. It's a really cute place, very beachy
and fun. They have an amazing happy hour tomorrow,
it's $20 all you can drink from 6-8, if you want to
come before that I'll be there at 4. It would be a
blast to see everyone and it would be our own little
party! My number is 917-1212121. HOPE TO SEE YOU ALL!
LOVE YA' ANNIE

If England lose tomorrow, I'll be drowning my sorrows every night in the city for the next 4 weeks so you'll find me in a bar somewhere weeping in the corner.

Otherwise, how about July 7th? It's the Friday before the world cup final (Sunday).

Any ideas about location? Lurch mentioned an interesting bar a few weeks ago...

Manhattan is good for me also ... don't know any bars with a rock vibe though ... or a decent Internet Jukebox besides the ones we already went to ...

there is a place on 1st and 73 called Session 73 that has some pretty kickass cover bands on weekends ... large joint usually packed with typical Upper East Side crowd ... but the booze is reasonable and the vibe is always good

OK no worries. How about the following Friday?

I'm leaving for England on JUly 26th and won't be back until mid-August so anytime before the 26th is good for me.

Right then, so can everyone do July 14th?

Holy fuck, Emperor is playing at BB Kings that night. We can go to an internet jukebox bar and listen to "Nightside Eclipse" in its entirety. :loco:

Otherwise we can head over to NorthSix and see Municipal Waste.

"Thrash-hardcore fusion was not exactly a genre whose embalmed, buried, and long-forgotten body was begging for revival, but neither was eighties-style power metal, and that doesn’t stop Three Inches of Blood from being a lot of fun. Municipal Waste lack the musical and songwriting skills of that band, but their enthusiasm is just as infectious"

you said you don't want to come to Brooklyn?!?!?

July 14 is good for me as well ... i still vote Duff's :loco: ... how hammered are you guys planning to be that you won't be able to drive home? :loco:

it's an easy hop onto the BQE > Triboro > Bronx > GWB > Jersey
