Since basically all the shows have to be over by 11:00 pm and there are 3 bands, Maiden is cutting out 3 songs from their European setlist on the U.S. leg of the tour. Can they cut out throwaways like Bring Your Daughter To The Slaughter, Brave New World, The Clansman or even Iron Maiden? Oh nooooooo, they have to cut out 22 Acacia Avenue, 2 Minutes to Midnight and Heaven Can Wait!!!!

HCW I don't have too much of a problem with, but the other 2, come on!!! Especially 22 Acacia Avenue. I mean why take that one out instead of another song that's been a staple of the setlist in recent years or something? 22... hasn't been played in like a century live!!!! Anyway, I like all 3 of these cut songs better than any of the 4 I mentioned above. That absolutely sucks.

Oh well, at least they're playing Revelations and Die With Your Boots On. That softens the blow a little.

That is ridiculous. Why can't they just get that dwarfy elf Dio to cut his set list? All I want to see him do is Holy Diver, Man on the Silver Mountain, and Rainbow in the Dark anyway.

Sigh agreed, though I believe Dio's dong the Rainbow classic "Stargazer" as well. That should rock, but yeah, I want more Maiden dammit!

We got over 2 hours worth last time around and there were 3 bands, I don't get it! I think the last tour may have started earlier or something.

But one thing I REALLY don't get is that why cut out 3 songs from the 80's???? The 80's songs are widely regarded as the golden age of Maiden and this is supposed to be the "Give 'em Ed 'til they're dead tour", not the "Give 'em Ed 'til the early curfew says we have to get off the stage so we have to make concessions due to our opening acts tour"

Actually, it's more like:

"Give 'em Ed 'til the early curfew says we have to get off the stage so we have to make concessions due to our opening acts tour, and the fact is, we're so old now we've forgotten how to play the early difficult ones and we're still getting paid the same anyhow tour"

I stand corrected.

By the way, this guy I'm bringing with us from work actually likes Bring your Daughter....

Well.... ok, not that it's the worst song in the world or anything, but to compare it as an Iron Maiden song to the rest of their vast collection of classics is like trying to compare Gallo wine to a 5 bottle run of the finest French Chateaux. But apparently some people must really like that song as you indicate since Maiden is using it as an encore song.

Perhaps if recorded by a different band, one might look upon that song differently (I don't think I would, but perhaps).

Oh, but it WAS, you know... Bruce Dickinson w/Janick Gers and a couple of others for the "Nightmare on Elm Street 5" soundtrack... It would've fit better on Bruce's "Tattooed Millionaire" album or something. Definitely not a 'Maiden song.

Dude - there's nothing to justify, I was basically just saying that this guy needs an education. :tickled: I've been lending him CD's, starting with Ed Hunter, The Beast of Dio, Queensryche (Greatest Hits), and a bunch of Slayer.

Growing up in India, his only access to metal was through MP3's - although he did live in Japan for a couple of years, but the CD's out there cost like $200 for an EP.

And it still never made it to the final movie edit! The song is 'orrible!

And Dark One would have known all this already because he (either already knew) or perused our Maiden feature where I gave mention to this fact in the Best of the B'Sides synopsis. :D

Oh yeah. It's like "Weekend Warrior", a total Gers made-for-fun track that should've been on "Tattooed Millionaire" if anywhere at all.
