Real Drums, one hell of a barky JCM2000, no bullshit Southern Rock.

Hey guys just finished this up yesterday and am quite happy with this! This is the first mix I have ever done without any replaced or augmented drums. The drummer knew how to hit!

Drums were a Yamaha Oak Custom, mic'd predominately with Audix Mics with a 57 for the hats and a matched pair of these awesome custom ribbons I just got for overheads.

Guitars were a '87 Les Paul through a Marshall JCM2000 Triple lead combo, mic'd Fredmann style with a 57 on the cone and a i5 off axis

I played the bass on this one as their bass player is currently away, just used podfarm for it and it came out pretty cool.

i like everything but damn this just sounds way way to thin to me, i feel it should have power and be very in your face.

Not really feeling it. Bass needs to be bigger, drums sound quite thin. I'd start back from the drum sound and try building the mix back around them.

I agree entirely, its a bit late though band has already published it. I went a bit to low end heavy on my last mix and was afraid of doing that again. Something to keep in mind for next time though.
