Realease date for The Black Waltz

I hope that Pekka's voice is better. I think it sucked on Swampsong. For example Burbot's Revenge...it's horrible vocally, especially the chorus. Musically I hope it's more...finished than the last album. The latter songs had left-over riffs and overall they sounded like filler songs. That's why I'm glad they decided to take their time finishing this new album.

^^
Well if you read back abit, one of the guys came on and said we'll be suprised with what they've done with the vocals.

Errr... Was it suprised or happy? Or was it excited? *Goes to read back a few pages*

Acoustics would be awesome.

Power metal vocals on a few songs would be alright.... But not the whole album.

Hell no...no power singing in swamp metal....didn't someone of the band write here that there would be no clean vocals? Or was it just "no female vocals"? I can't recall and don't bother to check :Smug:

Btw, there is a pic where it shows Antti playing an acoustic guitar.

That is a good thing too, since female vocals generally are rather corny. I am quite excited to here the acoustic guitars as well ... I am fairly certain they shall add a new layer to the sound, depending upon their useage and how much they are used.

Yes, the melodeath genre has degressed a bit in the few last years. IMO after Wintersun's album there hasn't been any good melodeath act worth mentioning (I don't count new CoB as melodeath, and I'm not even sure about Wintersun) so I hope Kalmah and Eternal Tears of Sorrow will revive it with their new albums.

Totally ... I am hoping Eternal Tears Of Sorrow continues down the path of A Virgin And A Whore, however, I know they have a different keyboardist now so I'm guessing the album will be different, although hopefully up to par in quality.

Really? :err: I mean, I don't like the record, but that's just taste, however, I really did find it to be melodic ... ?

Not even Dark Tranquillity's Character? Arch Enemy has sucked ever since Burning Bridges.

I think DT sucks. Don't like their old stuff, don't like their new stuff. Same thing with Arch Enemy, but they are even 10 times worse than DT.

i hope melodeath in general will not become even more keyboard-egocentric :/

(on the other hand: if placed well and arrangements are balanced, they're still just fine)
