I made a video to explain what's going on with here with my two Firestudio projects. I explain all the details of what's going on in the video. Basically, I get random drop in's and drop out's of audio during recording and playback. If there are any details I left out, let me know. This is insanely frustrating. :yell:Anyone have any ideas?

*BTW - All firewire drivers are up to date and I'm using the Win7 legacy firewire driver.

for the hell of it i would disable your networking card and anit-virus, i kinda had a problem like this in pt. when i did that it went away, you're problem could also be a recent computer update that might of changed some things to.

Are the 2 interfaces daisy chained together??

If, so, that's probably the issue. can you not have one connected to your PC via Firewire. Set the other in standalone mode and ADAT into the first one?

:)

unless they have no adat. not sure exactly which models they are. If they have no adat, then I'd consider aggregating them, rather than daisy chaining.

Definitely try to troubleshoot with just one FSP at a time. I had issues with a pci wireless card, I now use a usb wireless adapter. Anti-virus programs are fucking useless, surf smart instead.

I find it strange that your second FSP's sync light doesn't turn red as well. Maybe swap them out and see if anything changes. Also, did this just happen out of the blue or have you recently changed something with your configuration?

I suggest browsing the Presonus forums and trying to find anyone else with the same problem. If it's under warranty and you can't figure anything out, then send it back. If it's not under warranty, then you can open it up and poke around inside, it's gonna cost like $80+shipping to get it fixed (i think that was the price).

Have this always happened? or it started at some point?

i was just planning on buying another presonus firestudio project to daisychain them :S

i wish you luck
and please tell us if you find an answer (or even better...a solution)

I'm gonna post this video on the presonus forums and see what they have to say.
No adat on these units, unfortunately. So daisy chaining is the only option right now.

I'll try using just one unit at a time later tomorrow. I've had both units for a while now, maybe 2 years or so, and only have been having glitchy issues like this for the past 6 months or so. Can't really remember if it happened out of the blue or not, but I can definitely say that it didn't happen suddenly from any certain thing that I remember to cause it.

I kind of doubt that a windows update is messing with it. Win7 is up to date and I never had any issues with any windows updates and my audio stuff before.

I had a usb wireless adapter, but it sucked and I replaced it with a PCI card and it's been much better than before. I do browse smart, but I like having a light AV program just in case... I use Avira antivir, BTW, so it's not a clunky P.O.S. like norton... eek. It's always very light on resources.
