really bad opening bands

Clonecircle when they opened For Mercenary.
Clonecircle might be the worst band I've ever experienced. Mercenary rocked that night, tho. :D

Never heard of clonecircle but the name alone sucks.
So where did you see mercenary at...not sure if they ever toured around my area before but i would love to see them.
Recently got 11dreams and its's great

I actually think Raging Speedhorn are ok

Like most people I know, my familiarity with them doesn't extend much beyond them touring with Nile and Hypocrisy last year, and most of them were pretty quick to write them off. But yeah, I didn't think they were totally unlistenable by any means. They've got the right idea with the sludgey hardcore punk/metal sound; they just don't do it exceptionally well. I could see myself checking them out again in the future some time though. That might not have been the best tour for them since, at least at the show here, most of those in attendance wanted to hear straight death metal. I personally thought between them, Soilent Green and the headliners, it was a decent mix of styles.

I'd say that soilent green and with passion fit the bill fine, but the speedhorn...just no.

WORST EVER: "Stonebird". They opened for Motorhead on their 1916 tour at the Brixton Academy. This was the first time that Motorhead had played in the UK for about five or even more years, and the fans were ravenous - especially as this was the only venue that they were playing. On comes stonebird. This was my first metal gig, and I was expecting my ears to fucking bleed - and on comes some cunt in a flappy white shirt, complete with dandy frills down the front.

Then they started to play - imagine Enuff Z Nuff spliced with the sound of farts bubbling through water. Luckily, they got two songs in before being bottled and glassed off the stage in a hail of booing.

Stonebird never supported Motorhead at the Brixton Academy. In fact Stonebird never played the Brixton Academy. We DID support Motorhead at the Kentish Town Forum on Sunday 19 June 1994; the night that 19 year-old kid died stage-diving.

Luckily, they got two songs in before being bottled and glassed off the stage in a hail of booing.

Is that a fact? We played a 45-minute set that night. Yes, there were glasses flying, but not just for Stonebird. Some cock landed a pint on Lemmy's chest as soon as Motorhead went on stage. Lemmy pulled the gig for fifteen minutes but they went back on again

Thanks for the well-informed and incisive review of my dreadful band.

Enjoy your life.

Thine Eyes Bleed and Mastodon opening for Slayer.

With Passion and Raging Speedhorn opening for Nile/Hypocrisy.

I'm sorry but Mastodon is an excellent opener for Slayer. I went to that show/tour and thought they out played Slayer (Who was terrible by the way, Kerry King is a douche)

The worst I've seen recently was Averse Sefira opening for 1349.

I mean I'm not the type to judge too harshly and I usually find something enjoyable through most sets, but these guys could NOT play their instruments.

On top of that they were yelling all this inane shit between/before songs like "Die tonite!" just lame.:Smug:

The lead singer/guitarist looked like a matured Pugsley with down.

biohazard opening for slayer in melbourne ( aust ) roundabout 1992 . from the moment biohazard went on , they were doomed . all u could hear was the slayer roar going round . everytime the lead singer said something he got verbally abused  crowd never gave em a hope in hell  and there music was utter crap

i havent been to a real concert before since i do live in the middle of bumblefuck but bear with me here

i heard children of bodom is a really shitty live band

bumblefuck??????? where the fuck is that ?. sound's like a good holiday destination

ok kiddies , guess where we're going for christmas ???? were going down to bumblefuck !!!

From the bad opening acts mentioned so far I like Moonspell and Daath(Daath's really growing on me) but I haven't heard them live either. I heard Abigail Williams broke up and I couldn't believe it, they were about to get a decent following and possibly Hot Topic status but I don't know, seems like they fucked themselves on that one but I don't know about the band's problems.

Abigail opened for Enslaved and DF last year and after seeing them live Im glad they split. Im happy Enslaved is headlining a 07' tour but the openers are meh.

SOTU 2006 was a big dissapointment
i hurried there because in flames and cannibal corpse was playing
i have to wait through 10 shitty deathcore bands to listen to them while emo kids dance in the pit, fucking yay

Must have been a disappointing show overall then seeing as Cannibal Corpse are hella boring and In Flames haven't played a decent set in years.
