Reamping 6505 + Marshall V30 Cab - microphone placing, head settings

my question is about placing microphones. I have two - mxl 990 condenser and shure sm58 (which is same as 57 when i remove the cap).

Next question is about amp settings for deathcore .

Place the 58 where the dustcap meets the cone. Then turn the knobs on the amp till it sounds good.
