Reamps: block letter 5150 vs rev g recto

Thanks for posting this. I hear a bit more fizz coming from the 5150 but more warm tube character and the recto sounds a bit tighter and cleaner but maybe a tad cold. I don't love one over the other surprising since I'm more of a 5150 person. Blending them would be probably a nice balance.

I think the 5150 kills it for this track although I think I'd ultimately find the mesas mids less obtrusive and nice, dark and thick for anything maybe slower and less riffier. Could definitely do with a hi pass and a c4 clamping down on those low mids.

Cool stuff dude, and I prefer the Recto for its bite, but did you use a TS? If so, maybe turning down the bass a bit would help, cuz it's a bit whoomp-y; FWIW, I never had the bass above 11 with my old RevG/Mesa Standard duo

5150 slays the Recto for this IMO. There's a high end graininess on the Recto I just don't like.

Play around with the Recto a bit more, though, I've reamped this track through many a Recto before (including 2 Rev. Gs) and you should be able to get it much less grainy than that.

I was talking about the recto. The recto needs a good retubing, probably been a solid decade between freshies. Might be contributing to the graininess and flubby bottom. The low end was only about 9 o'clock ish I think.

5150 sounds a tad congested in the mids to me.... very stiff and cardboardish....

the recto glues better but needs just a bit more mids and CUNT HAIR less gain..

I used the 5150 and mesa for their cleans in their own respective tracks as well just for comparison.
Sorry for the shitty iPhone pics.
