any reason users here? reason 6???? already?! it feels like they just came out with 5 and record 1.5. it seems as though this is just a merger between the two which is strange cause there is no reason to buy record anymore. record wasnt a professional DAW anyhow but it did have some nice tools and an alright layout.

Propellerhead is also coming out with an interface which looks to be pretty alright for those people that just need a couple pre's.

I'm just using Reason 4 in Rewire mode. Didn't even bothered to upgrade to version 5 as I don't sample nor use anything else than synths, especially Thor. This is what everyone was waiting for in Reason 5, it seems like they JUST realized it...

I love Reason, but have just never felt that they were going in the right direction with it. The sequencer has become bloated in my opinion, and I didn't like the SSL based mixer - too big, and was not fluid to navigate.

I use Reason 5, I don't think I'm gonna bother with 6.

And your right, I don't see the point in getting record anymore (not that I would have).

Kind of disappointed to see that they listened to the retards that use this software. It's obvious it was never really meant to be a DAW, yet idiots kept on insisting that it go that way and here we are.

I'm actually excited for this...I'm still on 4, never bothered with Record because I didn't care for the interface and lack of VST support, but I've always thought that they should implement audio recording in Reason. They also have new stem export options that will be very handy.

Sometimes I like just working in Reason for a different environment and workflow to help spur some new creative ideas, but the lack of audio recording has always really limited me. I also love their effects and the overall sound of the program, and there have been lots of times where I wish I could use some of their effects for my audio in Reaper.

I'm also still using Reason 4, I had planned on upgrading to 5 this winter but what the fuck, maybe I'll just wait for 6? Seems too fast, they should just update the existing version more.

Edit: This actually looks really cool.

I´ve used 2 and 3 via rewire for a long time. Dropped it because it was boring to have to deal with two programs and two save files (Reason and the DAW). If they ever feel like transforming it on a VSTi like Kontakt I will check it again.

Man I want this, the only thing I felt it was missing in previous versions was easy audio integration from outside sources. (Used to have to import everything in NN-XT) Plus those new effects seem pretty cool, icing on the cake.

Reason 5 came out over a year ago. Reason 6 now incorporates Record, as well as the three new features, Alligator, Pulveriser, and that delay unit.

Since this thread started I'm on v7. I chose not to upgrade to 8 because I didn't like the new features when I tried them in testing and there weren't enough to warrant purchasing. I love Reason though and often will write/track/edit/mix in it and export to Reaper for mastering. The comp/split edit modes are really useful.
