I think Nova Era, Acid Rain, Heroes of Sand, and Rebirth are better songs than anything on ToS. But from start to finish, I think ToS is a better disc as a collective whole.

that's unfair!!!! they are both amazing albums. ToS is just out there with the amazing technical guitar, fast, and heavy riffing, great melodies, and great acoustic pieces. However, it never felt like Angra to me because they didn't play as much with the Brazilian sounds like they did before, they are still there but not really upfront. It is a great album, but doesn't really stand out from other PM bands.

Rebirth, was the last album that Angra recorded that still has the Angra feel to it, and I absolutely love it. Again, great guitar work, not as technical as ToS, but still amazing nonetheless. This has Rebirth, Heroes of Sand, Nova Era and the ballad at the end, as well as other great gems.

to sum it all up, both albums are great, but if I have to pick one I would pick Rebirth...but if I want to drive fast, I'll say ToS XD

ps. best Angra album for me is Angels Cry

Serious?

I agree the first two discs with Matos are both amazing, but I feel the writing on Rebirth and Temple is top-notch and suits Edu's voice perfectly...

Although there are some good moments in all the albums, I think everything post-Fireworks (Angra, Shaman, Andre Matos) lacks something. I don't know, it's not the same for me.

Temple of Shadows was the last Angra-Related album I purchased, actually. I don't own any of the Andre Matos solo discs, the latest Angra, or any of the Shaman discs (other than Ritual).

My nickname is deceiving :p

Rebirth for me. Not my introduction to Angra, but it seemed to freshen up the band when it came out. Wasn't sure what to expect when Matos dropped out and was surprised.
