Angels Cry and Holy Land... =P

Not a fan of either albums in the poll.

:) Matos! THAT is when Angra was truly Angra (carried on with Shaaman), but if I had to choose I'd say as a few have said already, TOS as a whole CD in regards to it's production and quality, Rebirth as far as certain songs and the attitude was a lot more positive. TOS is quite dark and is also when Edu's voice went from being not on the same level as Matos' in my opinion, to having really bad problems via live shows due to his acid reflux or whatever happened in that case.

What are Matos' solo albums like? Power metal or something different a la Virgo or something?

I've only heard Time to Be Free, but it's a melodic metal album (I don't think it's necessarily power or prog) that's somewhere between Holy Land and Shaman's The Ritual. It's got that familiar Sascha Paeth production job, which helps.

Dude...its Matos.

I have both of them, and I like the latest one better, Mentalize. The first one is really good, really heavy while the second one has better riffs, flow, and melodies. I recommend I Will Return from Mentalize, it stars off with a Queenesque vocal melody.
