I was about to buy a rechargable battery to use with my guitar..
But as I was reaching for it, I faintly remembered reading about rechargable batteries not being good for music, but.. I don't know, are they?

I googled for an answer, including the Sneap google search..
But didn't really find anything about it..
Just that a battery doesn't seem to keep a steady nor high voltage..

Would there be a downside to just connecting a power supply?
I mean soldering an external input for a power supply..

I think I remember reading that a active pup is actually made to be driven on 18v.. I could just get one of those supplies with adjustable voltages to find a good voltage..
I dunno..
Thoughts? Do tell! :)

Why ?
IMHO using rechargeable batteries only makes sense in things like digital cameras which will go through a set in like 1 day or even just few hours if you are a pro photographer.
A good brand normal battery will work for at least a month in your guitar.

Power supplies can give you "dirty" power polluted by everything you and your neighbors have connected to the grid (electric drills for example).

Yes they will sound better at 18V.

Thanks for the answer!
Ah, didn't know that other stuff connected could pollute the power..
It's just that a rechargable battery would be better for the enviorment, you know that it's charged and it's re-usable.. and yadda yadda yadda..
But I guess it's not worth it then :)
