That's not solely based on guitar. I have Scales & Modes in the Beginning: Created Especially for Guitarists and I'm happy with it.

A well rounded book on music theory.

Maybe I'll brush up on some of this stuff if I get a new book to read. ;)

Don't let the "pocket" title fool you- it's pretty comprehensive.
 
I liked this one:

BEAD method of Fretboard Mastery. Basically circle of 5ths stuff. Yes it is based on guitar but its just not scales and modes but describes theory behind it and has a pretty cool way of learning the fretboard.
