Recommend me an 8 pre to pair with 003

Hey,

Right for the last couple of years I've been running Cubase 4 on my mac pro with 2 Focusrite 26i/o's, I'm seriously looking at the swtich to PT with the new Digi 003+, Im just struggling to decide on what I should use to take me up to 16 mic inputs..

I've had a good run with the sapphire stuff, although the sometimes sketchy problems I've had makes me want to not continue with another focusrite unit.

What would you lot recommend?

id agree with focusrite stuff! as for me id want somehting with good ad/da conversion, meaning later down the line i can plug some nice pres into the adat unit and the 003.

Im using a 002 with a Motu 8pre, works great, sounds neutral, so im happy for the time being!

I'd say to stear clear of the 003+ and to just go the 003 route and route 8 preamps via adat. You can use the line-ins on the 003 for a few really nice pres or channel strips too. That's just my recommendation though. Could you tell us what your budget is?

Sorry, I didn't actually recommend anything... Just from experience, the Audient ASP008 is a really cool unit with loads of good features - 8 super-clean preamps, very high quality instrument ins, -20db pad on all channels, phase reverse on all channels, adjustable hi-pass filtering on all channels, phantom power (obviously) on all channels.
