my old pc no longer works for recording and when i got my new pc it didnt have a slot for my old maudio 1010lt card.
iv been looking around for a while. the Mackie blackjack looks ok but i keep finding horrer stories on the drivers. the focusrite saphire 6 looks ok as well.
I really only need it to track guitars and vocals. Midi is a plus but not necessary. Also Do i really NEED Firewire? i know its more consistent for audio data flow but im not tracking big multitrack files like drums. at the moment my computer has usb3.0 but no firewire port. Its 60$ish for a new firewire800 card on newegg..
also i should clarify. I have a Countryman t85 box so clipping wont be a bother.
