Recommend me some modern rock

umm.. if you want modern rock but like 60's/70's twist to it. check this band from leeds:

http://www.myspace.com/gentlemanspistols

also, the guitarist from Carcass is in them and the singer looks like Charles Manson. When i saw them live aswell, i thought i'd be funny and ask if they were playing "helter skelter" tonight.. and they looked abit confused, i thought it was hilarious..think that was the beer talking though :$

Fair to Midland
Evans Blue
Story of the year
Porcupine Tree
The Killers
Snow Patrol
Interpol
any Paul Gilbert solo album (my fav is "Alligator Farm")
Ayumi Hamasaki (if you're into J-pop )

I don't get the hype around Paramore... at all. It's the same with modern Nickelback, sure, the production is outstanding, but the songs... ? Snoozefest to me. But whatever rocks your boat..

Biffy Clyro are quite nice, though. And I really liked the Black Stone Cherry debut. Been listening to Ignite's latest a lot lately, too. Highly recommended if you like melodic singing with a punkish/HC edge. So if you like Billy Talent, you may check out Ignite or Rise Against...

The new AIC will put them all to shame, though. :)

With Dredg just pretend anyting after El Cielo doesn't exist.
Big +1 to Circa Survive and Breaking Benjamin

Dark New Day's 'Twelve Year Silence' is really worth checking out, great songs & production
