A rather overlooked part of the New England avant-garde/post-rock/prog scene (Dysrhythmia, Kayo Dot, Time of Orchids, etc, etc). On first listen, you hear some great proggy instrumental post-rock that's fairly laid-back and atmospheric, but still rocks to a certain degree. However, each subsequent listen draws you further and further in, with its hypnotic, lush, beautiful sound. I am a man who listens to a lot of instrumental non-classical music (I own at least 100 instrumental CDs), and IMO this is the gem of the collection. I can't imagine anyone not liking this CD, yet it is relatively unknown. Sadly, the band called it quits after having all of their gear and van stolen while on tour to support their debut CD.

This is my non-metal recommendation. Although it is included on Librarius Metallicus, it really isn't a metal release. I figured since Digital Metal reviewed it, I was justified in adding it to the library :) My description doesn't do this CD justice. I hope the samples will.
