Just wondering what the standard common practice is when recording a piezo equipped acoustic guitar plugged in? Direct, preamp, amplifier or etc.?

This will be my first time recording one and wanted to see what you guys do.

Most piezos will need a DI. And I will third the mic recommendation, too. At least that way you'll have options.

Thanks guys. I'll take a DI and mic it up. All the acoustic enthusiasts I've known, especially Bluegrass guys, it's ALWAYS physical mics.

piezo pretty much always sounds ugly unless you want a super fake sound.

there's a uad plugin that's designed to be used on piezo guitars to make them sound mic'd up. no idea how effective it is but on the whole piezo's are good for convenience and little else....
