Recording dry guitar

Is it possible to record guitars dry, but hear the effects when playing? i tried adding podfarf vst on the track but you can hear the altered tone only when playing back already recorded part not when recording.

I'm using podstudioux2 and acid.

Run Podfarm standalone, and in the mixer section on the left you'll see send 1-2 is "processed" and 3-4 is "dry input"
in your DAW make 2 tracks, one with the sends 1-2, and one with 3-4. That way you can monitor (and record too) the processed signal, while recording the dry track.
