The funny thing is - I actually found Ending Quest through FDA Rektoz's Facebook page. You'd expect label Facebook pages to be useless, but I found a pretty great band that way.
There's really an unfortunate lack of Swedeath revival bands from the United States. I can't think of any offhand.
Passionate advocates of the true spirit of death metal, Bloodbath have appeared in various incarnations over the years, with Opeth's Mikael Akerfeldt and Hypocrisy's Peter Tagtgren performing vocal duties at various points along the band's gore-drenched career path.
In 2014 it is Paradise Lost frontman Nick Holmes that has stepped up to the mic, reviving his legendary unearthly growls for new album Grand Morbid Funeral, which sees the grim revivalists dragging their sound ever further back into extremity's filthy shadows. The first song to be released from Bloodbath's repulsive new opus, Unite In Pain is a masterclass in feral riffing, unholy howls and exhilarating, abyssal heaviness. Play it loud and may God have mercy on your festering soul.
The band also released the full tracklist for Grand Morbid Funeral, see below:
Yeah I don't really know what to make of it either....I guess it does sound very much like Autopsy does nowadays so if that is what they were aiming at then they they are spot on but I do hope that the growl is better on the rest of the tracks...
Digging the music a lot, but the vocals are a little on the weak side. Sounds like his voice is strained besides the few deeper lines. I will have to listen more to see if the voice works for the music
