RECORDING MASTER AUDIO IN REAPER: MONO vs STEREO PROBLEMS!

ive been recording audio from websites (not stealing artist's music or anything) into reaper, and when i listen back to the recorded track, it seems that it recorded it in mono, rendering almost no stereo imaging. how can i record an audio file from a site onto reaper in stereo? ive tried to look around but i just cant find the answer.

I don't think that is legal in anyway and free and uncopywrited sounds have download links

There is a reason why you can't download certain things

Well, you can't get stereo sound from a track that's already mixed to mono.

Is it illegal to download even if you are not distributing it?

My old computer (XP) could do this with no problem, just had to go into your sound properties or whatever and select "Stereo Mix".

Use a Waves Doubler with fairly conservative settings, wont be completely stereo, but it'll be better than mono
