Recording Overheads

More info required; what is the rest of your gear like? Soundcard, etc...

You'll want two mic's;

One of the cheapest ways is to buy the T-Bone drum mic set from Thomann, and guess what, they're actually not that bad!!

Still working on all of that
hahaha
Not sure what I should get
I know that I'll be using a trigger for the kick
micing the snare with an sm57
and probably triggering the toms (not sure yet though)
Any suggestions?
haha
No idea what my soundcard is
I'll be recording all of this through my macbook pro
so whatever that soundcard is
haha
sorry but this will be my jump into recording live drums
So I have no idea what to do
I've been using programed drums(DFH)
thanks for the help!

Well look; for overheads you're always mostly going to need phantom power provided by your sound interface or mixing desk. Without that, the mics wont pick anything up. If you don't have a soundcard, look into that before anything else.

No matter the schpiel that Apple throw around; you're not going to be able to record live drums without some sort of interface for your Macbook.

Thanks Drew!
Figured I would need phantom power
not a huge surprise
and I don't even know how I could possibly record anything of quality straight to my macbook
hahaha
definitely am getting some kind of interface
