I want to record the sounds I choose from the Legend Of Zelda Ocarina of Time soundtrack via emulator rom. How would I go about recording the output of my soundcard straight into my DAW?

I've done this for my own music, but with Skyrim soundscapes
All I did was use Camtasia with the setting switched on to record sound output and run the game, capture the sounds I want, load up audio file from the resulting video in my DAW, and cutting, labeling, etc.

If you have windows 7, you can right click you speaker icon and click "Recording devices". There should be an internal soundcard option you can enable.
Set your DAW to like DirectSound or WASAPI (something that's not asio) and you can arm a track and record.
