I searched the forum for this, but, nothing was really clear to me. So I figured I ask this question. Yes, I did read the new v3 manual.

How do you record your PODxt and monitor it?

Here's how I'm doing it..... not sure it's right.

I plug into a Countryman DI which is then plugged into my Digi002 pre1 input. In Nuendo3 I have the output set to output 3 which is sent to the X-Amp feeding the PODxt. The pod's outputs are set to channel 3&4 in on Digi002. When I record, just the direct guitar with no processing gets recorded but I can hear the processed sound of the pod. Once recorded I can tweak the PODxt all day long till I'm happy with the sound. I'm I doing this wrong?

I tried using the USB connection on the PODxt to record. I did what it said in the manual but don't like having to switch to the PODxt as my soundcard.

Is there a better way to do this? How are you doing it?

What you mean is to record the clean signal while listening to the processed?

If yes, try this.

Install tools from Line6 and latest driver. Connect via USB.
Go to Programs-->Line6-->Tools-->Line6 Audio-Midi Devices.
Click on "Advanced". Choose "Send Clean Guitar".
On Nuendo, Cubase or whatever choose driver "PodXT".
Then you will record on a track only the clean signal, while listening to the processed one.

To reamp go again to -->Line6-->Tools-->Line6 Audio-Midi Devices.
Click on "Advanced". Choose "Send Re-amp playbak".
return to your recording software, play the clean track and you'll notice the clean sound is being reamped. Then you can rplay it while recording on to another track..
