It's a very common chord that's played there, and the rhythm is nothing unusual, I'd guess a lot of guitar players stumble upon that riff

Yeah that's probably the case, but at the time I had only been playing the guitar for a little over a year and I wasn't much of a theory guy and I just started playing that riff the exact way it is on the album, I thought it was pretty funny in all my not-so-creative...ness, lol.
