Removing noise from snare drum???

I know that its usually a good idea to remove access bleed in the tom tracks but should you do it to the snare drum as well??
Im curious on opinions..

It cleans shit up but that would take so long for me to do.. haha i tried it and didnt see a noticable differance as with toms..

I gate it if it sounds good but cutting the bleed like with toms. no way, too much work.
