I bought a set of M-Audio BX5a monitors on sale at guitar center a few months ago for $199 dollars/pair. One of the monitors started to crap out on so I checked M-Audio's website and it looks like I have to have them warrenteed. The only problem with that is the service plan at guitar center requires me to send them to their service place by mail and then instead of sending me a new set they will send me a check in the amount I paid for them. The monitors are no longer on sale and regular price is 299 dollars. There is no way I am going to pay another hundred dollars for the same monitors.
So, my question is what is a good replacement set for around the same price range. I was looking at the KRK Rockets but haven't heard from anyone who actually used them.
