Repulsive II

This was sooooo sickening that I had to make a sequel
to the last thread...
The Portland, OR station www.kufo.com/ (radio) is having this "request" weekend.
People phone in shell out some money that will be donated to charity &
they play your request. Yes, even if it doesn't meet their current format.
So what's repulsive? Here you go, I was listening while I ran an errand.
As I was listening they were playing all sorts of old school stuff. After the break they came back. As they were doing their intro to their next batch of requests, they mentioned "that the next request came from a guy that paid extra for this buttrock request. Well, at least it's a cover of a Black Sabbath song. This is "symptom of the universe" covered by Sepultura." Correct me if I'm wrong, but Sepultura was NEVER a "hair band", unless I was in a completely different universe. I can't believe these assholes at this radio station. One they don't know Metal, two they think that ANYTHING before GRUNDGE was "Buttrock" or "hair metal."

That is just fukin Retarded that Dj should be drug out into the street and Shot!

yeah that's pretty sick, alright. A local station did that here in KY a year or two ago and it was pretty cool, though. They were playing a ton of 80's rock/metal a la Motley, Ratt, Cinderella and then some guy calls in and they're like, "Ok...hold on to your seats, we have a request here that is gonna blow your speakers..." and lo and behold, somebody requested SLAYER's South Of Heaven! It was a trip to hear Slayer on the radio and I don't think I've heard it since. I just wonder where they keep all these cd's that never get played? They just happen to have SLAYER in the studio or did they have to run out and buy it?!?!?

you'd think they would make sure their people know what the fuck they are doing when they employ them.for insulting as great a band as sepultura, the guy should have some red hot pokers shoved up his arse.
Exactly. I'm just curious as to what the "format" these stations will use when NUMETAL hits the wall. They must be scared to death. That's just around the corner you know...

Hold on to your seat. Up until about two years ago, Slayer was a staple on this station, hell they would even try to get the bands in for interviews when they were in town. I couldn't tell you how many times they had Tesla in the studio, until they changed their format.

yeah, those fuckers are being insulting about us.i cant believe that anyone could lump bands together in that way and then use such an insulting term.i must confess i dont see it so much in england-most of the kids i see at gigs are all pretty respectful of the more old school bands-still see plenty of maiden t shirts or ozzy or metallica on 16 yr olds.is there actually some kind of division elsewhere over the music?
