Revalver + Other Amp Sims

I just checked out Revalver and it didn't sound too bad. I've always been very sceptical of amp sims in general though, worried that they are going to have that 'fuzz' edge.

Tell me, what is your experience of amp sims, worth a go or neigh?

If so, any one in particular?
