Love the title Bernhard (both of the thread and mp3 ) Pretty cool, though the guitars are definitely too loud and have too much low-mids going on (who's the one always chastising me about mud? ), and I think I hear some phaseyness from what I assume is quad-tracking. Also, I'm not sure how well those synth sounds work, especially the stacatto one that comes in when the guitars start a'rockin, but maybe with the guits down in level it wouldn't be as bad. Cool stuff man, but you know I'm gonna advocate deleting one track of guitar from each side!

Oh, and I'd bring the ride down a bit, so it doesn't sound quite as cheesy/fake

After comparing the two, I DEFINITELY prefer the second, cuz the guitars need to be lower - but now I feel the synths could come down too, specifically the stacatto one (but I really like it, reminds me of "Reroute"-era In Flames). Also, the guitars could really use a slight cut at around 400 but more importantly a decent boost (like 1.5 to 2 db) at around 4k for some more bite IMO! Sweet stuff man, what did you use for the synths?

Woah kick is way too loud. Agree that the synths are too loud also, burying everything else and makes the whole mix sound soft.
